So last weekend Dan and I drove to Connecticut to attend a massive triple birthday party, and of those three birthday folks we knew zero of them. Dan’s sister nicely invited us, and we got to know people. Everyone (mostly) was very nice and friendly and funny. We played some good games of yogaball, with minor injuries reported, and one broken watch. We met a person (Garrett) who blogs for a living, which sounds difficult since I never want to update. He made delicious muffins.

Dan locked the keys in the trunk the morning we were about to leave. It was alright though, triple A came and broke into the car for us and got them out. Unlocking your car through cell phones doesnt work, at least with VW’s.

When I came home, the banjo was here! It’s gorgeous. Now I just need to learn to play.

I completed a three star Sudoku puzzle yesterday. It was really tricky. I rule.

Today I worked as the infamous Ron’s secretary, typing in hundreds of clients names into his computer. I even drove out to pick up lunch for us (taco salads from Wendy’s… not very good). And then I installed DSL in his office! Which, I am using now. He better pay me a lot because I’m dusty and sweaty. Now I’m taking phone messages too, because he’s in the spraying room.

My banjo has been shipped. It will be here in 4-8 business days. Yayy!

I’ve been interested, lately, in learning the fine art of banjo playing. After several crushing defeats I finally managed to win an eBay auction for one that looks pretty good. It hasn’t arrived yet, but I really want to not lose my motivation. My goal is to be able to play all my favorite Sufjan Stevens and Iron & Wine songs. Wish me luck.
